Delivery, sending limits and warm-up

Mail rejected, landing in spam or not arriving; new-account warm-up, daily sending limits and why sending can be paused.

Mail is rejected or lands in spam

  • Open your domain page and make sure SPF and both DKIM records are OK.
  • Add a DMARC record (start with p=none).
  • Avoid bulk or purchased lists. Mail by vizsu is for person-to-person and transactional mail.

Incoming mail isn't arriving

  • Check the MX record is OK and old MX records from a previous provider are removed.
  • Allow time for propagation after changing MX.
  • Check forwarding: a mailbox forwarding without keep a copy won't store messages.
  • Messages larger than your plan's maximum size, or with blocked attachments, are refused.

New-account warm-up

For the first 7 days after an account is created, all its mailboxes together can send to 50 recipients per rolling 24 hours. Past that, sending is refused until older sends roll out of the window.

Daily limits

Each mailbox has a rolling 24-hour recipient limit set by your plan (see Plans). Every To, Cc and Bcc address counts. A single message can have at most 50 recipients.

Paused sending

Sending can be paused for a mailbox or a whole account while we review unusual activity. Receiving and reading keep working. Reasons:

  • Spike: a mailbox suddenly sends far more than usual (more than 5x its recent daily average and over 100 recipients in 24 hours).
  • Bounce rate: more than 5% hard bounces.
  • Complaint rate: more than 0.1% of recipients mark mail as spam.
  • Manual: reviewed by our team.

If you think a pause is a mistake, contact support@vizsu.com with the affected address.
